Spencer Van Metre
AVP of Investment
Spencer joined Paragon in 2023 as an Investment Manager and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Investments in July 2026. In his current role, Spencer supports all aspects of Paragon’s Northern California operations, including acquisitions, entitlements, leasing, and construction.
Prior to joining Paragon, Spencer held positions at JLL and Cushman & Wakefield. At JLL, he served as a Senior Analyst on the Retail Open Air Property Management team, focusing on portfolio growth and performance. At Cushman & Wakefield, Spencer served as the sole Financial Analyst supporting three commercial real estate brokers specializing in the acquisition and disposition of net-leased properties nationwide.
Spencer began his career at Shelter Bay Retail Group, a property management firm specializing in open-air shopping centers. There, he supported the day-to-day management of retail properties and participated in the firm's sale to JLL.
Spencer graduated from the University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, specializing in real estate and investment management.
